What to expect during your visit

We understand that if you need a food bank you are likely experiencing challenges in your life. In order to make your experience positive, LDFB staff and volunteers strive to create a positive and healthy environment for our clients. As a Covid 19 precaution we are continuing to provide a contactless hamper pick-up.

When you arrive for your appointment please park at the overhead door marked "Food Bank", ring the doorbell and someone will come to assist you.

Guidelines for Appointment

The LDFB is operated on an APPOINTMENT ONLY basis for food hampers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. (CLOSED HOLIDAYS)

Intake calls are completed in the morning and appointments are given for the same afternoon.We start answering hamper request calls at 8:30 a.m. and clients should call as early as possible to ensure an afternoon spot. Please do not call ahead of time as we DO NOT pre-book appointments.

For clients who require food assistance, the following information is required upon intake at every visit:

  1. Full Names of all individuals/members living at that address.
     
  2. ID for all individuals/members living at that address.
     
  3. Provide the required information each time the LDFB services are requested, including current proof of residency (power or gas bill), dated for the month being accessed.
     
  4. Source of income
     
  5. What circumstances have led to the need for food assistance?

We ask these questions at each visit to fully understand your situation. With the details you provide we can often identify and suggest other available community resources and programs to help in addition to food hampers. Clients are encouraged to use all resources available to them.
